About Dargarth
Dargarth is a full-contact, sufficient-force live action roleplaying game (LARP) based in Seattle, Washington. It uses boffer-style combat for maximum intensity and safety. Players wield foam weapons and follow simple hit-location combat rules. The armor worn is real, and magic is represented with simple rules that are focused on playability and speed.
Players take on roles as knights, rogues, priests, and other adventurers. They engage in battles, diplomacy, and quests. Dargarth takes place in a shared fantasy world created by players. The world changes as players influence it! Teams form into countries, create religions, and build ongoing lore. Both PvP and PvE encounters are common.
Garb and a character name are required, but Dargarth tends to be more light hearted and accessible than some high-immersion LARPs. It’s inclusive and beginner-friendly! A normal Battle Day includes many combats in which players get back up and do it again! Adventure Days stretch out as a long-term immersive event.
Dargarth was created in 2010 as a cross between the combat only boffer group Belegarth and the in-depth roleplaying wargame Darkon. It has since evolved independently with diverse stories and history. Recently, Dargarth has undergone a post-covid revamp and rules update.
